ResortTribe, Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use ResortTribe ("Service").

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, password, and profile details when you register.
  • Booking Information: Reservation dates, guest counts, special requests, and payment details (processed securely via Stripe — we do not store full card numbers).
  • Vehicle Information: RV/vehicle details you add to your profile for booking purposes.
  • Communications: Messages you send through our platform, support inquiries, and reviews you submit.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, search queries, and time spent on the Service.
  • Device Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies and local storage to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and analyze usage. See Section 7 for details.

Information from Third Parties

  • Social Login: If you connect via Google, Facebook, or other OAuth providers, we receive basic profile information (name, email, profile picture) from that provider.
  • Payment Processors: Stripe provides transaction confirmation and fraud signals. We do not receive full payment card data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process reservations and payments
  • Send booking confirmations, receipts, and transactional notifications
  • Display your reservation history and account details
  • Improve the Service through analytics and feedback
  • Respond to customer support inquiries
  • Send marketing communications (with your consent, where required)
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

  • Campground Operators: When you make a reservation, the property operator receives your name, contact information, and booking details necessary to fulfill the reservation.
  • Payment Processors: Stripe processes payments. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist us with hosting, analytics, email delivery, and customer support — bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ResortTribe, our users, or the public.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Reservation records are retained for a minimum of 7 years for legal and financial compliance. You may request deletion of your account and personal data subject to legal retention requirements.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Delete your personal information (subject to legal obligations)
  • Opt out of marketing communications (use the unsubscribe link in any email)
  • Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a structured format

6. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a CCPA request, email privacy@resorttribe.com.

7. Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential: Required for the Service to function (session management, CSRF protection).
  • Analytics: Help us understand how users interact with the Service (e.g., page views, feature usage). You may opt out via your browser settings.
  • Preferences: Remember your settings and preferences across sessions.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect Service functionality.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@resorttribe.com and we will delete it.

10. International Transfers

ResortTribe is operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by posting the updated policy with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
